Visionary entrepreneur Luca Franco formed Luxury Frontiers in 2011 out of a desire to pursue a purposeful venture in the travel and lodging space. United by a shared passion for experiential travel and the desire to enrich people’s lives through a deeper and more physical connection to nature, Franco partnered with current Managing Director & Principal, Graeme Labe, of South Africa. For several years, the small architecture and design firm were Africa-centric with its history in the off-grid safari market. However, by 2017 the team identified a great thirst for luxury outdoor hospitality in the Americas.
After raising capital from like-minded investors, the company opened an office in California while retaining a strong presence in South Africa. The new Luxury Frontiers was born in 2018 as a full-service, international design firm, complete with strategic advisory and procurement services, signifying a new chapter. Since 2018, Luxury Frontiers has grown into the world leader in upmarket eco lodging, with prestigious projects all over the world—including Costa Rica, the United States, and the Middle East.
