Canyon Equity, the owner of the iconic Amangiri, has charged Luxury Frontiers with designing an all-weather tented camp at a level of luxury unprecedented in the West.
The result: 10 beautifully appointed one- or two-bedroom tented pavilions, highly customized architectural statements which will offer discerning guests both ultimate luxury and an adventurous back-to-nature experience in the vast desert landscape.
Luxury Frontiers provided not only conceptualization and architectural and interior design services, but also custom furniture design for select pieces. In keeping with the design ethos of Amangiri, the tented pavilions are comfortably spacious, with clean lines and natural color schemes, yet are distinct with a luxury camp feel. The interiors embrace regionally-inspired textures, leather detailing, wooden fittings, and canvas work distinguished by a high degree of stitching and fixing details.

While the camp offers carefully curated vistas of rocky outcrops and flat-topped mesas, each element of the tented pavilion is to host an experience for the senses. Indoors, each tent boasts a living area, dining area, wet and dry bar, and a soaking bathtub with desert views. The tented roof extends the indoors to outdoor living areas, marked by a private oversized terrace, fire pit, and heated plunge pool.
Designed to perform
Given the site conditions of sun, snow, and extreme temperatures varying between 20 to 105 degrees F, no detail was too small in designing the tented pavilions to thrive on both an aesthetic and performance level.
